Are you aged 18-25 and Scouting in GLSW?
Could YOU be our new County Youth Lead?

The County Youth Lead is a chance for a young person to help shape how Scouting works across the whole County — not just activities, but decisions, priorities, and plans. In this role, you’ll help make sure that young people’s voices are heard, valued, and acted on at every level. You’ll work with other young people, adult volunteers, and County leaders to make Scouting more youth-shaped, inclusive, and relevant. You don’t need to know everything already — this role is about learning, growing, and leading together.

What You’ll Do
As County Youth Lead, working with the support of the County Lead Volunteer and County Leadership Team you will:
• Be encouraged to develop ideas to lead and support youth voice and youth-shaped Scouting across the County
• Create, work with and support County Youth Forums
• Make sure young people are involved in decisions that affect them
• Represent young people’s views at County meetings as a Trustee (with support)
• Help adults understand how to work with young people, not just for them
• Support Districts to involve young people in planning, leadership, and governance
• Promote inclusion, accessibility, and participation for all young people
You’ll never be expected to do this on your own — this is about shared leadership and being part of the County Leadership Team.
