Whether you just want to gain some experience of hillwalking for the 1st time or you want to learn some key mountain skills or work towards leading others in the hills then these weekends are for you. If you wish we will provide assessment for those wanting to gain a Scouts Adventurous Activity Permit
These weekends are run by Peak SASU, a run jointly by GLSW and Surrey Scout Counties SASU and made up of leaders who are also hillwalking and climbing trainers and assessors who have been working together as a team for many years. We support and train Beaver/Cub/Scout/Explorer leaders and lead groups in the hills and mountains ourselves; many of us hold the Mountain Leader and/or Rock Climbing Instructor Awards, as well as adventurous activities permits for the Scouts.
The May weekend we offer training or assessment to take young people climbing on natural rock crags.
