Operation Red Flare: Explorer and Network Scout Event on 10-11 October 2026
We are delighted to announce the return of Operation Red Flare, our annual night hike event for Explorer Scout and Network Scout teams from across the Greater London South West Scout County,
Operation Red Flare sees teams hike between 20 and 25 km undertaking activities at checkpoints along the way, starting and finishing this year at Blackland Farm Outdoor Centre, Grinstead Lane, East Grinstead, Surrey RH19 4HP from late afternoon/early evening on the 10th October to the early hours of the 11th October.
Units are able to register one team up to 15th September 2026 to encourage as many teams as possible to enter via Trybooking at: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GUOC and after that date, may register a second team if we have space on a ‘first come first served basis’ using the same link.
This event is also open to Ranger Guides and Explorer Scouts and Network Scouts from neighbouring Counties.
