Meeting times:
The club meets during term time on Mondays (19:00 to 21:00) and Tuesdays (19:30 to 20:30).

The Club:
Royal Kingston Scout Air Rifle Club (RKSARC) offers a space for Scouts, Explorers, Network members and leaders to learn and/or practice the sport of target shooting. The emphasis at the club is on safety, and responsible use of the rifles and pistols within Scout Association activity rules.

About the Club:
Air gun shooting is a skilled and very enjoyable sport and some members of the club have gone on to join the National Scout Air Rifle Squad, and even competed Nationally and Internationally. One past member has competed at the Commonwealth games! Most of our members just take part for fun.

Beginners will need to complete the National Smallbore Rifle Association’s Youth Proficiency Scheme in air rifle shooting. This is an 8 week course held at the club several times a year.

A YPS course in air pistol shooting is available for those who have successfully completed their YPS in air rifle shooting.

Scouts who complete the YPS successfully can go on to complete their Master at Arms badge. Also, air gun shooting may be offered towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award (sports/skills sections).

RKSARC runs 2 competitions a year, one for the whole of GLSW Scout county and one for Royal Kingston. We also enter a team to the annual National Scout Air Rifle Championships and support anyone from Royal Kingston who attends, as well as organising the team for the county to enter the Scout Inter County Shooting Competition each year. More information can be found on our competitions page

Details of YPS courses and competitions are emailed out to leaders in advance, and posters publicising events are put up in as many Scout HQs as possible.

Please email the club if you have any questions, and you can sign up below to receive information about the club, future events or courses.
