Explorer Scout Mountaineering weekends

The County Explorer Team with support from Peak SASU will be running two mountaineering weekends in October 22.

22-24th Oct Remote/Wild camping – Dartmoor – this will be an excellent weekend for Gold DoE or KSA expedition training.
You will travel down to Dartmoor to arrive early afternoon. We will walk out from our start point and camp on the moors as the light fades. The following morning we will pack everything up and backpack for the whole day and camp a 2nd night within a couple of hours from where we originally started. the nxt morning we will return to our start point and there we will have a cooked breakfast before returning home.

27-30th Oct – Mountaineering – Snowdonia – an excellent weekend to gain some experience of the British Mountains.
We will travel up to Bethesda, the GLSW county base, this is a bunkhouse which sleeps 32. Friday will be spent in the hills and Saturday will be spent climbing or further walking depending on want you want to do. Sunday we will travel home.
