We are delighted to announce details of our Explorer Belt Programme for 2027. Building on the success of our 2026 programme to the Galicia region of Northwestern Spain, we will be heading to the Bavaria region of Germany in summer 2027.
The Explorer Belt is one of the Top Awards in Scouting open to older Explorer Scouts aged 16 or 17 and members of the Scout Network and is a real ‘opportunity of a lifetime’. It involves participants hiking at least 150km over 10 days whilst completing projects and immersing themselves in the culture of the region.
The expedition will run between 13 and 27 August 2027 and participants will need to complete a mandatory training programme beforehand to evidence they have the skills to complete the expedition but will receive plenty of guidance along the way from our helpful team of mentors and former participants.
