Today we are recognising Keith Axbey who was awarded the Silver Wolf by County Lead Volunteer, Chris Wright this past weekend.

The Silver Wolf is the unrestricted gift of the Chief Scouts and is the ultimate recognition by Scouts to a volunteer who has embodied the Scout values and shown a huge amount of commitment to the young people they support.

Keith is the Group Lead Volunteer of 6th Tolworth Scout Group and has seen young people progress from Beavers through to adults. As GLV, he works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure all of the volunteers in his Group are supported, recognised and able to do their best work with the young people so in turn, the young people get the most out of Scouts. Alongside his contributions as GLV, Keith is also the Section Team Leader of the Scout Troop at 6th Tolworth. Under his leadership, the section has been transformed into a thriving section full of adventure, and also delivers canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as inventing popular events like the Scooter Rally and Wobstacle,

Alongside working in his Group, Keith is also the Team Leader of the Southwood Activity Centre Team. He, along with the team of volunteers which he leads develops the centre and ensures it is capable of providing the best experiences for both young people and adults. His contribution to Southwood has turned the centre into. a thriving outdoor activity and learning space, with the addition of a new jetty, shelters and adventure spaces.

Thank you Keith, for everything you have done for the movement and all of the young people you have supported.
