Dear Explorer Belt participants and parents
EXPLORER BELT 2022
With the return to Green announcement by the Scouts, we can now run international activities again. We’re pleased to confirm therefore that we’re planning for an Explorer Belt expedition to Luxembourg in 2022. We hope you’ll want to join the expedition. Our plan is to run the expedition much along the lines that we had intended for this year. For example, this means travelling out by coach to Luxembourg; and your expeditions spending 10 days hiking and travelling through Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany.
NEXT STEP: REGISTER FOR THE INFORMATION AFTERNOON ON SATURDAY 25th SEPTEMBER
The first step to take part is to register for the Explorer Belt Briefing afternoon at this link. It will be on Saturday 25th September at 2PM. During the briefing, we’ll share an updated plan for next year and talk about application dates and teams etc.
We’re very much looking forward to running the Explorer Belt next year. We know how disappointing it was for you that we had to cancel this year’s expedition. We really hope you will be able to join us in 2022 instead. We are confident you will find it a stimulating and worthwhile experience. We should though caution that the final decision to travel will inevitably depend on the continuing Covid situation and on host countries lifting their restrictions too. There’s some further details on dates below.

LUXEMBOURG 2022 OUTLINE DATES
In outline the proposed dates are:
2021
Information afternoon Saturday 25 September, 2PM
Submit application including your team and main project outline By Saturday 30 October
Training weekend 1 Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November 2022
Training weekend 2 Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March
EXPEDITION Saturday 23 July to Friday 5 August
Celebration Saturday 17 September (TBC), ahead of start of university terms / freshers week
