District Commissioner - Sutton District

Do you have great communication skills? Can you motivate teams and individuals? Are you a good listener and want to help Sutton Scout District become even more successful? Or do you know someone who is?
Well, the search is on for the next District Commissioner for Sutton District.
We are asking if you would consider taking on this role yourself or if you could suggest somebody you believe would be suitable for the role.
The District Commissioner (DC) is a key leadership role in the District providing management, support, inspiration and coordination to ensure the District runs well, that adults are supported, that young people are safe and that Scouting thrives and grows.
The role of DC may at first look daunting and you might think it’s not for you – but don’t be put off as there is a great support network available to whoever is appointed. The District has strong Groups and many committed leaders and there is also the County Team ready to support, guide and advise.
Further on in this post we’ve included a link to the full profile for the District Commissioner role so please take a look. But in simple terms the DC needs the following:
- effective management and communication skills
- pragmatism
- the ability to inspire and both lead and be part of a team
- and be able to encourage, enable and empower.
Please see below the download links for the Role Description to either make an application for yourself or to nominate someone who you think would make a good DC.
